Theodor Roald Gadderud, Aidan Li Set To Appear On The Sport’s Top Stage
One current member and one alumnus of the California men’s gymnastics team will be competing at the top gymnastics meet of the year next week as senior Theodor Roald Gadderud and alumnus Aidan Li become the first Golden Bears to represent their respective nations at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, held this year from Oct. 19-26 at the IMS Arena in Jakarta, Indonesia. Each session will be broadcast on Eurovision, while start lists, live scoring and results will be hosted on the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) website.
Â
Roald Gadderud, a three-time All-MPSF gymnast, will represent Norway at the World Championships for the first time since 2019, where he competed on floor, pommel horse and rings. This time around, Cal’s top all-arounder will compete in four events: floor, rings, vault and high bar. His campaign will begin in Subdivision Three, which is scheduled for Sunday at 2:15 p.m. local/12:15 a.m. PT.
Â
Aidan Li, the two-time Canadian pommel horse champion and 2025 NCAA runner-up, made the National Team roster for the first time earlier this year, making the upcoming competition his World Championships debut. He will appear in Subdivision Eight of the qualifying rounds, which will take place Monday at 11:50 a.m. local/Sunday at 9:50 p.m. PT.
Â
Should Roald Gadderud or Li advance beyond the qualifier to the event finals, they will compete in the apparatus event finals Friday (2 p.m. local/midnight PT) and Saturday (2 p.m. local/midnight PT).
