A 24-year-old motorist suffered serious injuries during a two-vehicle crash involving a Tesla and a Honda Civic in the El Cerrito community of San Diego, authorities said Saturday.
The crash occurred at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Dayton Street and El Cajon Boulevard, the San Diego Police Department reported.
An eastbound Tesla Model Y on El Cajon Boulevard, approaching the intersection with a green light, made a left turn in front of a westbound Honda Civic, violating its right of way, authorities said.
“The Tesla and Honda collided in the intersection,” according to a police statement. “The driver of the Honda was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and was treated for a fractured left femur and a lacerated liver.”
Impaired driving was not suspected in the crash.
