Five lucky Southern California lottery players kicked off the year by winning $1 million on Scratchers tickets, lottery officials announced.

Four of those tickets were purchased in Los Angeles County, and another in San Diego. One of the Scratchers purchased was from the 40th Anniversary revival of the California Lottery’s first game, California Jackpot Scratchers, by Rosalie Norquist, said the California Lottery.

That ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven at 16711 S. Vermont Avenue in Gardena.

Three Power 10’s Scratchers worth $1 million were also sold in LA County at the following locations:

Circle M Mini Market,12142 Downey Avenue, Downey

El Toro Liquor, 5501 Atlantic Blvd, Maywood

Northgate Market, 10801 Prairie Ave., Inglewood

A San Diego man won a million playing the 50X The Cash Scratchers game.

The California Lottery has over 50 Scratchers games available, with new games launching each month.  Tickets range from $1 to $40.
