FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Flight Line Cafe inside Chandler Airport in southwest Fresno attracts aviation enthusiasts and folks who just want a good meal.

“This is not just a historical place, but there are so many memories here,” says co-owner Brenda Dalforno. “This cafe has been here since this building was built, and that was the late 20’s.”

The place appears to be frozen in time – until you see how quickly the food is prepared.

Ruben Velasco and staff are just a blur in the kitchen.

“They do work at a warp speed, that’s for sure,” Dalforno said.

“The flavor I do, it comes from the heart, my hands,” Velasco said. “I have to move.”

The arrival of the Alpha, Bravo, Charlie Omelet was highly anticipated.

Alpha stands for “Avocado,” Bravo stands for “bacon” and Charlie stands for “cheese.”

“I love the aviation theme of some of the dishes,” Dalforno said.

If you’re in urgent need of a burger, go with the Mayday burger.

“It keeps you coming back for more,” Dalforno said.

Understandably, some pilots even include a meal at the cafe in their flight plan.

“I’ve met a few pilots that have come from as far away as Phoenix, Arizona,” Dalforno said.

The cooks in the kitchen are Dalforno’s uncles.

“I’m trying to do something new, better,” Velasco said. “If I like it, customers are going to come and try it and love it.”

“Our way of expressing our love is through food,” Dalforno said.

We also suggest the seafood specials.

“Every Friday, we’ll do fish tacos, and we have a signature sauce on those tacos,” Dalforno said. “We also offer a fantastic bowl of clam chowder. We usually run out of this pretty quick.”
