FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — North Fresno Rotary and Cultural Arts Rotary are hosting a special evening with Fresno native and acclaimed composer and orchestrator Jeff Atmajian.
Jeff has composed for famous movies like Wicked, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, The Dark Knight, and more.
The event will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
It will take place at the Fresno City College Old Administration Building, with a VIP reception starting at 5:30 p.m. and the main program beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Atmajian will discuss his work on Wicked: For Good, perform select pieces, and take part in a Q&A with Central Valley talk show host Hope Rosky and author and filmmaker Karen Sperling.
Proceeds from the night will support local and global Rotary projects, including student leadership opportunities, clean water efforts, polio vaccines, and education programs — all in the spirit of Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self.”
FOX26 sat down with Jeff, who says he didn’t like his piano lessons as a child.
He tried to quit, but then his instructor suggested he try playing pop along with classical.
He discovered there was a lot of piano in pop music and became hooked.
After graduating from Fresno State, he went on to USC, and his career took off.
Join the club and others in celebrating his work.
