The San Diego Automotive Museum will host its first-ever Garage Night on Friday, Jan. 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the newly opened IGNITE Academy campus (8630 Argent St., Santee). This event invites the community to enjoy an evening of drinks, bites, cool rides, and good vibes while supporting the IGNITE Academy, the museum’s innovative workforce development program, according to a news release.
Guests will have the opportunity to tour the Academy campus, see the vehicles owned and worked on by the program, and learn more about the progress students have made since enrolling. Food and beverage offerings will be available for purchase from Badas Burgers, with craft beer and cocktails served by BNS Brewing and Distilling. This is a 21 and over event, and all food and drinks are sold separately.
Proceeds from Garage Night will support the continued growth of the San Diego Automotive Museum and its IGNITE Academy. The IGNITE Academy is a hands-on, project-based program that blends career exploration, independent research, and skill building to prepare students for internships and career pathways in the automotive industry. Designed for high school students who are not four-year college bound, the IGNITE program provides mentorship, guidance, and early career exposure at no cost to students, helping them build practical skills and confidence for long term success, the news release stated.
