LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) – The spirit of Carnival is taking over the city of Long Beach for Jeep-A-Gras this weekend.
On Friday, jeepers gathered at Coastal Daiquiri Bar and Grill to register their vehicles for the parade.
The event included a sound system contest, a glow show, and an after party.
Organizers said around 90 jeeps were registered for the parade at the event
Long Beach Carnival Association King-Elect Ryan McMahon said the goal is to raise money for charity.
“So, our main goal as the Carnival Association of Long Beach is to raise money for multiple charities throughout the community,” McMahon said. “We’ve been running since July.”
Jeep-A-Gras Co-chair Joey King said there will be a band playing music for attendees.
“Tomorrow at 10 am, we have the beach crawl, you get to drive on the beach from 10 to 2,” King said. “Then at 6 o’clock is our parade and we line up at 4 at the high school and the parade ends here.”
Registration will continue on Saturday, the day of the parade.
