CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Harvard University wrestling beat CSU Bakersfield in the seventh-place match, 35-7 and fell to Central Michigan University, 26-10, to close its time at the NWCA Multi-Division National Duals on Saturday at the University of Northern Iowa’s UNI-Dome.
 
In its fourth and fifth duals of its first weekend of dual competition, the Crimson (2-3) took eight of 10 bouts on its way to the victory over the Roadrunners (1-8) and matched the Chippewas (5-2) with three wins apiece through the dual’s first six bouts before CMU took the match’s final four bouts to close the decision.
 
Sophomore Logan Brzozowski, junior Coleman Nogle, and junior Joseph Cangro all earned wins in both of the duals on the day at 125, 133, and 165 pounds respectively. 
Dual 1: Central Michigan 26, Harvard 10

Harvard Highlights


Logan Brzozowski started the match with a 14-7 decision at 125 pounds. He tallied eight points in the first period behind two takedowns and a 2-point near fall before adding a pair of takedowns in the second period.
Coleman Nogle captured an 8-3 win at 133 pounds to give Harvard a 6-0 lead in the team score. He notched an escape and a takedown in the first period before notching another escape and another takedown in the third period.
Joseph Cangro picked up an 11-0 major decision at 165 pounds, tying the team score at 10-10. Cangro registered a takedown and a 2-point near fall in the first period, added an escape in the second period, and notched a 4-point near fall in the third period alongside a point for riding time.
Jack Crook and Jimmy Harrington both dropped narrow decisions with Crook falling 20-17 at 149 pounds and Harrington falling 4-1 at 157 pounds.

Harvard Highlights


As a team, Harvard won eight of the dual’s 10 matches, including three falls and a technical fall.
Logan Brzozowski opened the match with a 4-2 win over returning NCAA qualifier Richard Castro-Sandoval at 125 pounds. Brzozowski notched an escape and a takedown in the third period on his way to the win.
Coleman Nogle followed with a fall in 3:55 at 133 pounds to push Harvard in front, 9-0, in the team score.
Jack Crook captured a 5-2 decision at 149 pounds to give the Crimson a 12-3 lead in the team score. Crook’s takedown in the second period helped power his victory.
Jimmy Harrington registered a 17-1 technical fall at 157 pounds to move the team margin to 17-3. Harrington tallied 14 points in the first period along behind two takedowns and two 4-point near falls.
Joseph Cangro added a 5-0 decision at 165 pounds to make the team score 20-3. Cangro posted a takedown in the first period.
Matthew Walsh notched a fall in 5:24 at 184 pounds to give Harvard a 26-7 lead in the team score.
Dylan Greenstein registered a fall in 0:24 at 197 pounds to make the team score 32-7.
Logan Marissal closed the dual with a 10-7 win in sudden victory at 285 pounds. He came up with a takedown in the first period, a takedown in the second period, and a takedown in overtime.
