Read our three best bets for Sunday night’s primetime matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and San Francsisco 49ers, including a Christian McCaffrey prop betChristian McCaffrey ranks third in the NFL this season with 46 receptions(Image: Photo by Cliff Welch/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images)
The Atlanta Falcons (3-2) travel out west to face the San Francisco 49ers (4-2) on Sunday Night Football, as both teams look to maintain strong starts to the season.
The Falcons are fresh off their best performance of the season, a 24-14 win over the Buffalo Bills last Monday night, led by offensive stars Bijan Robinson (170 rushing yards, 68 receiving yards, TD) and Drake London (158 receiving yards, TD).
Mac Jones is expected to start at quarterback for the 49ers, who remain one of the NFL’s most injured teams, most recently losing All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner (ankle) for the season. Running back Christian McCaffrey, who leads San Fran in rushing (336) and receiving yards (444), is healthy.
Let’s get into the three best bets for Sunday night’s contest.

In an offense that lost its top-four receivers to injury, the 49ers have turned to their star running back in the passing game more than ever.
McCaffrey has been Mac Jones’ safety valve, recording at least six receptions and 52 receiving yards in all six games this season.
Tight end George Kittle will return to the lineup for the first time since Week 1, but I expect McCaffrey to maintain his target share and go over 44.5 receiving yards.
Michael Penix Jr. averages 176.7 passing yards in three career starts on the road(Image: Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)Michael Penix Jr. Under 229.5 Passing + Rushing Yards (-112)
I am fading Penix Jr. after what was probably the best start and win of his young career against Buffalo.
In two away games this season, the Falcons average three points per game and Penix Jr. 153.5 passing yards.
It is a small sample size, but Atlanta’s offense has yet to prove it can move the ball and score points on the road.
The second-year QB has one career game with 10+ rushing yards, so I’m taking the under 229.5 combined pass and rush yards for the Falcons signal-caller on Sunday.

Robinson’s name has been mentioned as the NFL’s best running back after his outstanding showing on Monday night, when he broke an 81-yard touchdown run.
With no Warner, the leader and best player on San Francisco’s defense that would be responsible for stopping Atlanta’s rushing attack at the second level, I’m backing Bijan to bust another big run in primetime.
