BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Each year, The Bakersfield Kern Regional Homeless Collaborative conducts the Point in Time Count.
The Point in time Count is a one day federally required effort to understand homelessness in Kern County.
The data collected directly impacts how much funding our community receives for housing, outreach and support services.
Rebecca Morena, Director of Housing and Supportive Services for Community Action Partnership of Kern, joined ARC Bakersfield to share more details.
Morena noted the important role volunteers play in making sure the count can be done accurately and explained the training they undergo to help serve the community.
