BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The City of Bakersfield announced Cottonwood Road between E. White Lane and E. Pacheco Road will be closed 24 hours a day starting Tuesday, January 13, through Friday, January 16.
Detours will be in place at the nearest approaching intersections.
Traffic delays are expected, and drivers are advised to use caution while driving through the affected area. Officials said drivers are advised to use alternate routes or plan for additional travel time.
City officials said the closure is for crews to perform roadway construction work following the installation of a new sewer system in the area
In a release, it said, “This project is to restore the roadway near trench areas related to a newly built sewer system along Cottonwood Road.”
The release said construction work may be postponed and rescheduled without notice due to inclement weather and other unforeseen conditions.
