Parole agents had been searching for the man found dead in Arcade Creek since he went missing from his sober living facility, one fire official said.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man found dead last week in a Sacramento creek has been identified.

The body of Daniel Ezra Cannon, 50, of Sacramento, was recovered around 1:30 p.m. Thursday from Arcade Creek, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. He was found near Marysville Boulevard, Sacramento Fire Department spokesman Capt. Justin Sylvia said.

Cannon was found in the water by a parole agent, according to Sylvia.

Parole agents reportedly told fire personnel that Cannon went missing from his sober living facility and they went looking for him.

After Cannon was found, fire crews retrieved his body from the creek and waited for the coroner to arrive.

Cannon’s official manner of death is undetermined, coroner’s office records showed Monday evening.
