An unlikely event is returning to San Francisco’s Asian Art Museum after it became a major hit last month! On Sunday, January 25th, families are invited to attend the museum’s second Baby Rave, where the music is kept under 85 decibels but the excitement is unlimited.

The Baby Rave is part of the Asian Art Museum’s temporary Rave Into the Future exhibition, which celebrates the legacy of rave culture, music, dance, and community.

If you’re not a baby but you still want to rave, the museum will also host a “Day Disco” for grown-ups on Saturday, January 17th, featuring 90s-2000s hip hop and R&B.

Baby Rave

The museum hosted its first Baby Rave in early December, featuring short, kid-friendly sets by DJ Chico Chi, padded dance areas, and sound levels under 85 decibels.

While the upcoming January Baby Rave has not yet confirmed a DJ, guests can expect the same lively environment from the first event, where toddlers safely immerse themselves in movement and sound. The rave takes place inside the colorful Rave Into the Future exhibition surrounded by neon lights and decor.

After the rave, the museum will also host storytelling sessions and art activities for kids.

Catch 15-minute music sets from 10:30-10:45am, 11:00-11:15am, 11:30-11:45am, and 12:00-12:15pm. Drop-in art activities will last from 10:30am to 4:30pm.

Rave Into the Future is a new immersive group exhibition that just recently opened in October, presenting art that celebrates music and dance. Installations include video, sculpture, photography, and room-sized experiences, created by women and queer artists from the West Asian diaspora.

The exhibition closes on January 26th, 2026, one day after the Baby Rave, and requires special admission tickets. If you haven’t had a chance to explore Rave Into the Future, now is a great time to see it before it’s gone.
