Los Angeles deputies Wednesday began an investigation after finding explosives in a Rosemead neighborhood.

The LA County Sheriff’s Department confirmed with NBC Los Angeles that grenades were found inside a residence in the area of Jackson Avenue near Garvey Avenue.

Deputies, who responded to the call at around 12:21 p.m., moved the grenades to outside as they waited for arson explosive investigators.

Video from the scene shows vehicles from the LA County Sheriff’s Department, including that from the bomb squad, were sent to the apparent residential neighborhood.

A school nearby is on lockdown, the sheriff’s department said. There’s at least one elementary a few blocks from the investigation scene.

No evacuation orders were issued.
