Police are searching for a suspect wanted for an armed robbery that left a man dead in Long Beach.

On June 27, 2025, Long Beach police responded to a shooting on the 5400 block of Paramount Boulevard just before 8 p.m.

Officers found the victim, Dajion Hunter, 34, with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The shooter, identified only as an adult male, fled the scene before police arrived. Detectives believe the fatal incident was a robbery that escalated into a shooting.

On Jan. 14, 2026, investigators released new surveillance video capturing the suspect walking in a nearby parking lot minutes before the deadly incident.

He is described as a Black man in his 20s or 30s and was last seen wearing a light blue or teal hat, a red shirt, a light-colored zip-up hoodie, blue jeans and dark-colored shoes.

Detectives believe the suspect may frequent the Northpointe Apartments in the 5400 block of Paramount Boulevard.
