BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Caltrans announces there will be one-way traffic control operations on Highway 178 through the Kern Canyon on Friday, January 16.
Caltrans said it is for roadway maintenance operations, including shoulder repair, graffiti removal, delineation repair and replacement, pothole repairs, and blasting operations.
The one-way traffic will be on, January 16th, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., weather permitting, and will happen through a 2-mile section of the Kern Canyon.
Travelers should expect delays of up to 10 minutes during work hours.
According to Caltrans, maintenance crews will be conducting one-way traffic control during this time with the use of flagging personnel and a pilot vehicle to escort traffic through the work zone.
Commuters are reminded to obey flagging personnel, stay behind the pilot vehicle and pay close attention to road maintenance vehicles.
