The AMA has released their post-race penalty report from the opening round of the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in Anaheim and in addition to a significant number or riders failing sound test (I’ve NEVER seen this amount of riders failing sound test by the way) Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing Yamaha’s Haiden Deegan was fined for failing to stop for a TV interview.Â
Deegan, the defending 250SX West Region Champion, finished fourth at the opener.Â
Per the AMA rulebook, riders face a $1000 fine for the first offense for refusing a broadcast interview.
This rule has been in place for a number of years and is standard in most stick and ball sports.Â
Last year, Chase Sexton was fined after Tampa Supercross for refusing a broadcast interview and Cooper Webb was fined for the same reason in 2024.Â
Below is the official penalty report: Â
