NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 capsule returned to Earth and splashed down in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego early Thursday.

The Dragon spacecraft was carrying crew members from the International Space Station whose mission ended early because an astronaut needed treatment for a medical issue.

NASA astronauts Mike Fincke and Zena Cardman, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov has been on the space station for more than 165 days and contributed to hundreds of research investigations, according to SpaceX.

The capsule could be seen in the sky in Northern California as it descended.

KCRA 3’s Brian Hickey captured the streaking capsule from Placer County around 12:32 a.m.
