A United States Postal Service worker was robbed at gunpoint while making deliveries in Fresno on Thursday, police told GV Wire.
The robbery was reported at about 11:12 a.m. near Hammond and Fruit avenues. Fresno police say the postal worker reported that a male suspect confronted him with a gun and stole his keys, wallet, and cell phone.
Authorities said they could not immediately confirm whether any mail was taken during the robbery. The suspect fled the area on foot, running toward Fruit Avenue, police said.
The postal worker was not injured. Police said the suspect was armed and remained at large. Authorities are actively looking for the suspect.
The investigation will be taken over by a U.S. Postal Inspector, police said.
