FRESNO, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine men’s basketball team dropped a PacWest Conference road game on Thursday night, falling 66–55 to Fresno Pacific at the Special Events Center.

The Golden Eagles kept the game close throughout the opening half, trailing just 30–26 at the break after multiple lead changes. CUI shot 38.7 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes and held Fresno Pacific to 30 points, staying within striking distance despite early foul trouble and limited perimeter shooting.

Junior Kaden Minter led the way offensively, scoring a team-high 15 points while knocking down three three-pointers. MaCarhy Morris added 13 points and a team-best eight rebounds, while Marcellus Edwards chipped in 11 points and five assists.

CUI opened the second half with strong energy, cutting the deficit to two points after baskets from Morris and Edwards. However, Fresno Pacific responded with an extended run midway through the half, capitalizing on transition opportunities and free throws to build a double-digit lead.

Despite continued efforts from the Golden Eagles, including timely scoring from Minter and Morris, CUI was unable to overcome Fresno Pacific’s shooting, as the Sunbirds finished the game shooting 50 percent from the field.

CUI finished the game shooting 39.3 percent overall and 21.1 percent from beyond the arc, while Fresno Pacific held a rebounding edge and scored 40 points in the paint.

The Eagles move to 8–7 overall and 5–4 in PacWest play.

CUI returns to action on Saturday, January 17, when the Eagles travel to Jessup University for a conference matchup. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m..
