Sunny and warm conditions will continue Friday and into the weekend across Southern California as a high-pressure system remains in control over the region.

“Great weather, I mean temperatures in the 70s and 80s, so more warm weather and more sunshine, and unfortunately, windy conditions continue out there,” KTLA meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said.

The National Weather Service predicts advisory-level wind gusts for some isolated mountain ridgetops in its Friday forecast discussion.

“You know, it’s interesting because I would say—I don’t really want to put a percentage on it, but I’m going to ballpark here—80% of Southern California not feeling any effects of the winds,” Henry said. “But I continue every day to lead with that because we do have those foothill areas and certain areas where it’s not been dangerously gusty, but it has been a bit of a nuisance.”

Another round of wind is expected Saturday afternoon, with gusts between 30 and 50 mph for some inland and mountain areas before tapering off Saturday night and into Sunday.

Afternoon temperatures are expected to remain above normal Friday. “We’ve been hovering about five degrees below our record highs,” Henry said.

More seasonal temperatures, but still very likely dry weather, are expected next week, according to the NWS.
