If you thought L.A.’s dining scene was only about hype and celebrity sightings, think again! 2025 proved that the city’s restaurant culture is now as architecturally inventive as it is gastronomically exciting. Robb Report’s annual “Most Beautiful New Restaurants in America” list is a true industry barometer of design-forward dining.
And this year’s list features two special Los Angeles spots that feel like they were plucked straight out of a design influencer’s mood board and dropped into your reservation calendar.
🦪(No. 5) Cento Raw Bar
Walking into Cento Raw Bar is like stepping into an abstract oyster shell. The creamy, textured walls curve and fold, echoing the interior of a cavern, while bespoke shellfish towers, hand-made in Santa Monica, punctuate the space like sculptural art.
Eating at Cento Raw Bar feels like enjoying seafood while under the sea. It’s seafood but in an immersive installation form.
Robb Report notes of the design:
“This whimsical spot may take the prize for the most playful entry on our list. Cento Raw Bar brings its seafood-focused fare off the plate and into its design, making it seem as though guests are dining inside an oyster shell.”
📍Location: 4919 W Adams Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90016
🏝 (No. 20) Lucia
Lucia’s interior does what good L.A. spaces do best – blend art and architecture with a serious cool factor. Three towering palm sculptures sprout above the terrazzo bar like tropical totems. And plush velvet booths curl into shell-like domes that feel cozy and surreal at once.
It’s Afro-Caribbean cuisine wrapped in 1950s mid-century glamour, and the space matches the boldness of the food. It’s a feast for your eyes and your palate.
Robb Report writes:
“Lucia… is a visually enticing locale that’s full of energy and fun. The spot uses its Caribbean cuisine as a touchstone for those light and breezy touches, pairing it with a 1950s-era design, forming an opulent combination that just works.”
📍Location: 351 N Fairfax Ave Los Angeles, CA 90036
