SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A small plane made an emergency landing in Sacramento County.

According to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the plane landed without landing gear at McClellan just before 12:30 p.m. Officials said the plane was practicing touch-and-go landings at McClellan Airbase when the landing gear malfunctioned and failed to properly engage.

The pilot was able to do a “controlled belly landing” and bring the plane to a stop on the runway.

Officials said there were no reported injuries, and the plane had minor damage. Airport operations were minimally impacted, and the runway is expected to be cleared shortly.

The plane is believed to be a General Aviation 4 passenger Single Engine.
