It was a big Thursday for the Central East football team.

The Bengals were at Fresno City Hall, where they received a proclamation for Central East Football Day, following their win in the CIF Division I-A championship with a 42-28 victory over Pacifica-Oxnard in early December.

The day concluded with a parade from Gettysburg Avenue to Bryan Avenue and Deran Koligian Stadium, where a rally took place.

Mayor Jerry Dyer applauded the Bengals’ season, and head coach Kyle Biggs thanked everyone who helped his team win a state title.

He concluded with “let’s run it back.”
