San Francisco just announced that SF Music Week is returning for 2026, starting on February 23 and running through March 1. The week is intended to highlight SF’s music community. Music Week is a collaboration between SF Live, local music promoter Noise Pop, and the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD). Organizers have prepared an industry summit during the week and an artist development day. Multiple panels are available for free.

“The arts have always been central to our economic vitality and are inextricably linked to our evolution as a global innovation hub. This event series showcases music’s important role in shaping San Francisco’s cultural identity and spotlights how our creative sector influences tastes and trends worldwide,” said Anne Taupier, Executive Director of OEWD, in a recent statement. “By fostering inspiration, networking, and idea exchange among music industry leaders, SF Music Week will help ensure San Francisco remains an iconic destination for residents, workers, and visitors.”

The Artist Development Day will feature 7 panels on topics ranging from using music for social impact to connecting with your audience. You can attend professionals’ office hours or explore expo tables.

Even if you don’t work in the music industry, there’s still plenty of interesting events happening all week. Aside from the summit and development day, there are dozens of partner events. Some highlights include a music production pop-up lab, a tour of the Castro Theater, and drop-in DJ lessons. Of course, there will also be plenty of live shows during the week, including The Outlet LA’s Nightcap show, featuring R&B and Neo-Soul. Plus, check out three bands performing a free show at the Golden Gate Bandshell on March 1st to end the week.
