A Sig Alert has been issued by CHP Saturday following a fatal accident on the northbound direction of the I-5 Freeway near the Aliso Creek Rest Area.
According to CHP, the call of the fatal crash came in at around 2:30 p.m. The Sig Alert went into effect just before 3 p.m.
The Sig Alert states that the two left lanes of the northbound I-5 are blocked, causing traffic to be backed up all the way to Oceanside near the SR 76 intersection.
It is not yet clear what led up to the collision.
