The San Diego Gulls fell to the Coachella Valley Firebirds tonight at Pechanga Arena San Diego, 4-0.  

Goaltender Tomas Suchanek made his third AHL appearance this season, stopping 24 of 28 shots. 

The Gulls put up 28 shots themselves and had three successful penalty kills in attempt to avoid the shutout.  

Tensions were high tonight as Travis Howe and Roland McKeown both received roughing calls and game misconducts.  

San Diego will next go on a four-game road trip starting on Tuesday Jan. 20 when they take on the Tucson Roadrunners at Tucson Convention Center (5:30 p.m. PST). Â
