According to organizers the march is about 4.6 miles and takes an hour and a half. People are encouraged to arrive at Hughes Stadium at the city college by 8 a.m. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. The march departs at 9:15 a.m. There’s also an “extra mile” event (actually 1.9 miles) “for those in leadership” that takes place earlier Monday morning from the Oak Park Community Center to Sacramento City College. That march departs at 8:30 a.m. Sacramento Regional Transit is offering a free ride to and from the event from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on bus and light rail. Click here for a flyer. The Diversity Expo will have more than 100 vendor booths, a Rosa Parks exhibit, a food court, live music and three stages where people can learn about educational opportunities, hear from community leaders and learn about technology. The vendor booths will offer resources on health and wellness, jobs, housing and finance, energy savings and community services. Learn more.
