BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man has died after crashing into a canal near south of Bakersfield.
California Highway Patrol says a 62-year-old man was driving west on Herring Road, west of Highway 99, in heavy fog conditions.
CHP says the man crossed over eastbound lanes, onto the shoulder of Herring Road and overturned into a water filled canal.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is still unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
