Pentland Brands, owner of Speedo and Berghaus under London-based Pentland Group, is moving its North American headquarters to Long Beach this summer.
The sports fashion company – moving from Cypress – will operate out of a 25,000 square-foot hub at Aero Long Beach, accommodating more than 130 employees. The new headquarters will support brands in the Pentland portfolio and include a dedicated Speedo showroom.
The move coincides with the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in L.A., where Long Beach is hosting 11 Olympic and seven Paralympic events that include multiple aquatic competitions.
“We couldn’t be more excited to move to Long Beach and create a new working environment that truly enhances our vision, values, and sense of togetherness,” said Joel Harris, the newly appointed president Americas of Pentland Brands, in a statement.
The move positions the dominant swimwear brand Speedo – which saw more than half of the Olympic swimming medals won by athletes wearing its products in Paris in 2024 – in the forefront of the world-famous competitions. Pentland Group has owned Speedo International Limited since 1991, and in 2020 acquired Speedo North America from PVH Corp., which operated a licensee subsidiary of the Speedo trademark.
“Our new headquarters will bring our brands and our people closer together in the heart of a vibrant, dynamic city,” Harris said. “As we look ahead to the LA28 Olympic Games, we’re excited to be part of Long Beach’s future and to support the incredible energy and opportunity that the Olympics will bring to this region.”
Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Pentland to Long Beach. Their presence reinforces our city’s position as a premier destination for innovative companies and reflects the momentum we’re building as we prepare to host Olympic and Paralympic events in 2028.”
The city at the southern tip of L.A. County released its strategic roadmap last January, which includes guidelines to brace itself for tourism and attract investments that “align with the city’s economic development priorities, thus expanding economic opportunities.”
