Man shot to death near Oakland park

(KRON) — An man was shot to death on the 300 block of Grand Avenue in Oakland near Lakeside Park Saturday.

Officers with the Oakland Police Department responded to the shooting shortly after 7:15 a.m. and found the man lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Detectives are investigating the shooting as a homicide. Police have not announced any arrests in the case.

The victim was an Oakland resident, police said. His name has not been released to the public at this time. The case remains under investigation.
