The Nevada men’s basketball team cruised to an 87-54 wire-to-wire victory over San Jose State on Tuesday night at Lawlor Events Center. The Wolf Pack improves to 14-5 overall (6-2 MW) while the Spartans fall to 6-13 overall (1-7 MW).

The Wolf Pack jumped out to a 10-4 lead at the first media timeout and didn’t look back. Nevada went on a 12-3 run courtesy of a rash of three pointers from Kaleb Lowry, Amire Robinson and Chuck Bailey to give the Wolf Pack its first double digit lead of the night, 33-19, with 6:47 remaining in the first half. Nevada led 39-26 at halftime despite a three minute Wolf Pack scoring drought to end the first half. Nevada held a double-digit lead for the entire second half, capped off with a putback dunk by freshman Christopher Baudreau for Nevada’s final points of the night en route to a 33 point win. San Jose State played shorthanded on Tuesday without its top three scorers in Colby Garland, Yaphet Moundi and Ben Roseborough due to injury.

Nevada shot 50.9% from the floor, including 57.1% from three. The Wolf Pack collected 21 assists to five turnovers and outscored the Spartans’ bench 34-6. San Jose State shot 32.8% from the floor, including 16.7% from three. Corey Camper Jr. led all scorers with 19 points. Kaleb Lowery, Tayshawn Comer and Peyton White finished with 12 points each. Lowery added five rebounds and two assists to his double-digit scoring night. Comer led Nevada with seven assists. Elijah Price left the game midway through the first half after suffering a finger injury on his non-shooting hand. He re-entered the game late in the first half and chipped in six points and 10 rebounds against the Spartans.

Nevada now hits the road for a game at New Mexico on Saturday. Tip-off at the Pit in Albuquerque is at 5 p.m. Pacific time.
