Presenting the awards for elite student-athletes in Kern County was Greg Kerr, a current Sports Talk Host at ESPN radio 98.1, Sports Director at Bakersfield Now, Sinclair Broadcasting Group, Fisher Communications and KBAK-TV. Two of the 15 local elites who were awarded recognition were Taft College Women’s Basketball student-athletes Brooklynn Larsen and Aubrey Aldan. Larsen and Aldan.

Taft College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr., along with other athletic coaches and administrators, were present on behalf of their respective institutions and students to speak on why the student-athletes were deserving of honors for their distinguished accomplishments.

“The reason our program is athletically and academically successful is partly because of Brooklynn and Aubrey. They make my career as an athletic coach a harmonious culture,” said Coach Lagmay.
