LA JOLLA, CALIF. – UC San Diego freshman, Prathinav Chunduru, earned his first Big West weekly honor Jan. 21, as announced by the conference. The recognition comes after a 4-3 Triton win at home against Sacramento State on Jan. 16.
Chunduru competed in the No.2 spot for his singles match. Winning in two tiebreaker sets, Chunduru outlasted his opponent 7-6(6) in the first and 7-6(8) in the second. With his victory, UC San Diego clinched their victory over the Hornets.
This is UC San Diego’s first Big West weekly award of the 2025-26 tennis season.

On Friday, Jan. 23 the Tritons will host Point Loma Sea Lions at Northview Tennis Courts. The match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. and is free to attend. Note that parking permits are required 24/7 on UC San Diego campus.
