15-year-old arrested, 1 remains at large for assault of postal worker in central Fresno, police say

A 15-year-old has been arrested and another teen remains at large for the alleged assault of a mail carrier in central Fresno on Tuesday.

Police say the attack happened just before 2:30 p.m. in a neighborhood on Marks and Saginaw Way.

The mail carrier had a few minor scratches and was left “dazed” after the incident with the two teenagers.

The teen in custody faces charges including attempted robbery, assault and using force likely to cause great bodily injury.

This is the second time in a week a mail carrier has been assaulted in central Fresno.

Last Thursday, home surveillance video captured another mail carrier being robbed at gunpoint in a neighborhood off Hammond near Fruit Avenue.

A reward of up to $150,000 is now being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect in that case.
