Scattered showers will taper off Thursday evening as Pasadena heads into a stretch of warmer, drier weather, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard reported Thursday that below-normal temperatures will persist through Friday, with highs in the mid-60s. A weak low pressure system is producing clouds and light rain across Los Angeles County, though most areas will see less than a tenth of an inch.

Rain chances will diminish Thursday night as the system moves south. Friday will be partly sunny with highs near 64 degrees and light southwest winds around 5 mph, according to forecasters.

Temperatures will begin to rise Saturday, reaching 68 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Winds will strengthen in mountain areas and the I-5 corridor Saturday night, though Pasadena is expected to remain calm.

The warming trend will continue into next week, with highs near 70 degrees Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday is forecast to be partly sunny with highs around 71. Overnight lows will remain in the mid-40s.

No advisories or warnings are currently in effect for Pasadena. The National Weather Service said the next chance of rain may not arrive until early February.
