Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard and others helped distribute non-perishable food items to Pontiac residents in need, Jan. 21, at the Baldwin Center in Pontiac.

Through a donation from Brightmoor Christian Church of Novi, more than 1,000 grocery bags filled with non-perishable food items were available, according to a news release from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

The grocery bags were distributed to area residents in need at the Baldwin Center, as well as other local nonprofits including Hope Shelter, New Birth International Church, Grace Centers of Hope, New Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, and First Congregational Church of Clarkston.

A  limited number of bags of groceries are still available to those in need, at the Sheriff’s Office Pontiac substation at 110 E. Pike St. in Pontiac.
