Police were investigating a pair of crashes in Fullerton Friday that were linked to a smash-and-grab robbery in Anaheim, authorities said.
Anaheim police received a report of a robbery around 2:30 p.m. at a jewelry store at the Canyon Plaza shopping mall. The robbery suspects fled in multiple vehicles with merchandise valued at $1 million, according to the shop owner.
The first multi-vehicle crash was reported around 2:40 p.m. at S. Lemon Street and E. Orangethrope Avenue. Four suspects took off on foot from the wrecked vehicles, according to the Fullerton Police Department.
Just minutes later, around 2:43 p.m., a second collision occurred near N. Euclid Street and W. Malvern Avenue. Four more suspects fled the crash scene as well.
It’s unclear whether police were in pursuit at the time of the crashes.
