Hollister police Chief Carlos Reynoso saud said, “Both the sheriff’s deputy and a police officer fired their weapon so we reached to the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office. We are very grateful that they agreed to come and do an independent investigation on the shooting itself.”The San Benito County District Attorney’s Office is assisting in the investigation by interviewing witnesses, and the California Department of Justice is assisting with processing the crime scene.
