Police said both crashes involved multiple vehicles, and the first left several people with minor to moderate injuries.

After the collisions, the occupants fled on foot, though most of them have since been taken into custody, according to the Anaheim Police Department.

From the first crash, three of the car’s four occupants have been detained, while from the second crash, two of three are in custody.

One person from each crash remains on the loose.

At the scene of the first crash, KTLA’s Chip Yost spotted what appears to be merchandise and packaging from a jewelry store, indicating these crashes could be connected to an earlier incident involving a smash-and-grab at a jewelry store.

KTLA’s Gil Leyvas reported from Sky5 that the store in question is Classic Jewelers in Anaheim, where a dark-colored SUV could be seen next to the area at which it smashed into the business.

Traffic at those locations is expected to be impacted for a significant amount of time. Anyone with information can call 911.
