A north wind brings clear skies and warmer temperatures to Sacramento

of our forecast today with Brian. How’s the fog looking for today? What fog? That’s the beautiful part of this fog picture here. We’re going to start out here on the causeway, *** place that normally, uh, if we’re going to have fog, you usually see it here and you can see it’s crystal clear all the way back towards Sacramento, West Sacramento, looking great out there across the region. And here in downtown you can see *** little bit of low clouds kind of drifting off to the south, and that’s indicative of the north wind that we have in the area and that’s why we’re clearing out. We’ll talk about that in *** second. We’re at 42 in Sacramento, 46 in Stockton, 45 in Modesto, South Lake. Getting off to *** brisk start at 26, and here’s *** look at the visibility map, and you can see across the area it’s just patchy in nature now when we talk about fog. When I came in this morning, places like Marysville saw some limited visibility. Lincoln still has *** patch of fog there. Here in the Sacramento area, no fog, and again down around Modesto, this was at *** quarter mile when it first came in this morning. You can see that’s already improving with 3 miles of visibility. Certainly not an issue for drivers. Here’s why we’ve got *** north wind that’s coming into the area right now at 3 MPH, 17 in Yuba City, and that’s pushing. All the fog into the south, it’s stirring up the atmosphere and getting that fog out of here at least for *** day. By this afternoon we could see some winds up to around 1415 MPH here through the central part of the valley, and again that’s going to make for *** mostly sunny day. So if you’ve been craving some sunshine, get out there and enjoy it today. By tonight, the winds taper off, and unfortunately tomorrow the fog starts to build back in. This is today. The north wind pushing it out. Tonight it starts to build back in, and then by tomorrow we have some high clouds that drift over the area. Still going to be *** nice day tomorrow. We’re just not going to see the sunshine like we saw today and. We’ve been missing it, haven’t we? Here’s *** look at temperatures across the Sierra 34 in South Lake Tahoe today, 34 in Truckee. Lows down in the teens there, 10 degrees in Truckee. So again, great day to hit the slopes. Pack your sunscreen if you’re heading out there. That’s my warning. *** little bit of lip balm too. 60 in Placerville, 52 in Angels Camp, and 56 in Sonore, and I hope you make some turns for me up on the slopes again. It’s going to be *** great day out there as we head off into the San Francisco area. Nice day at 62 for *** high, low of 43, 61 in Concord, 62 in. San Jose and for the San Joaquin Valley, we started off with some fog this morning, but as you saw on the map, that’s already clearing out. We’ll hit *** high of 57 in Manteca, 53 in Turlock with the lows in the upper 30s overnight. And here in Sacramento, *** high of 60 degrees today for Sacramento, 38 for our low, 59 in Davis, 35 for our overnight low, and that’s pretty much consistent across the valley with mostly sunny skies for our 7 day forecast, foothills starting out with the fog this morning again, just patchy, 53, and then we go mostly sunny and then in. To Sunday we start to see some clouds in the area. Monday partly cloudy. By Wednesday, this is what we’re going to keep an eye on here, where we have the chance of some showers scattered about the area. It’s *** small chance it’s not going to be anything that’s really going to move the needle, but certainly something you want to plan for if you have outdoor, uh, plans. Today, *** high of 60 for Sacramento. Tomorrow, mostly cloudy with *** high of 53, and then again into Monday and Tuesday. You can see there the, uh, temperatures looking mild with that chance of showers by Wednesday. Leticia, we look forward to that, Brian. Thank you. Up next.
