2 arrested after fireworks and police pursuit in southeast Sacramento, police say
Police say those arrested were spotted driving recklessly with a teen in car near lit fireworks.

Reports of flashes of light and loud bangs in a southeast Sacramento neighborhood led to two arrests Saturday night. Multiple people took to social media with questions about the disturbance they were hearing outside their homes.The Sacramento Police Department said officers spotted lit fireworks and a vehicle driving recklessly near Florin Perkins and Fruitridge roads around 11:30 PM. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver sped off and a pursuit ensued, said police. Eventually, officers said the vehicle stopped and two adults and a 15-year-old fled on foot. Police located and detained them, and the adult driver was arrested on charges connected to the pursuit, including child endangerment. Police said further investigation revealed a large amount of marijuana in the vehicle and an adult passenger was also arrested on drug charges.
