Maine man found dead on side of the road in Fairfield, police say

Maine State Police officials said investigators are seeking information in connection with the death of a man who was found on the side of a road in Fairfield.The Fairfield Police Department received a 911 call shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday about a man who was not breathing along Martin Stream Road.Officers responded and called the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit when they determined the man was dead.Jason Grant, 46, of Oakland, was identified as the deceased by state police detectives.Grant’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy will be conducted in the coming days.State police detectives and evidence technicians conducted interviews and gathered evidence throughout the day on Saturday, according to officials.Authorities are asking anyone who was in the area of Martin Stream Road in Fairfield and/or Norridgewock Friday night or early Saturday morning and may have information that could help investigators to call the Maine State Police at 207-624-7076.
