After nearly 30 years, the owner of Cadillac Bar & Grill in San Francisco announced Tuesday the restaurant closed its doors for good.

A post on the restaurant’s Instagram page cites economic challenges that started with the COVID-19 pandemic and the departure of the Twitter building. Despite those challenges, Michael Rodriguez, the owner and operator of the establishment, declared he “persevered, outlasting every other restaurant that tried to survive in this area.”

Rodriguez said the restaurant opened near the Moscone Center in the 1980s and later moved to the Mid-Market area, where he stated the restaurant “became increasingly difficult to sustain” overtime.

“After much reflection, I’ve decided that the end of 2025 was the right time to close this chapter. I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported us over the decades—our loyal regulars, our guests, and all those who shared great meals and lasting memories with us. It has truly been an honor,” Rodriguez wrote.
