SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The San Francisco Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying a man who was called a person of interest in an assault of an elderly woman during an attempted robbery in the SoMa District in late December.

The 76-year-old victim was found lying on the street in the 800 block of Howard Street at about 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 27. She was taken to a hospital with non-fatal injuries suffered after she was allegedly pushed to the ground by an assailant who tried to rob her, according to police.

Police released an image of a man on Friday who was identified as a person of interest in the case and asked anyone with information about him to contact the San Francisco Police Department at (415) 575-4444, or text tips to TIP411 and begin messages with the letters “SFPD.”
