A man has been convicted of murdering his wife, according to a news release Tuesday from the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.Vincent Saenz now faces a maximum prison sentence of 50 years after a jury on Monday convicted him of first-degree murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm and using it, the district attorney’s office said.Sacramento police on Aug. 14, 2023, went to a home in the 3800 block of 28th Avenue near Fruitridge Road and Franklin Boulevard for a report of a shooting. There, they found Saenz with blood stains on his shirt and his wife, Felicia Wilcots, on the floor with a gunshot wound on her back, the DA said.First responders took Wilcots to the hospital, but she died of her injuries.The district attorney’s office said officers found a gun on Saenz’s bed. The couple’s six children were home at the time of the shooting, but they did not see it happen.Four of the older children told investigators that Saenz and Wilcots were arguing before the shooting, the district attorney’s office said.
