Reports of gunfire and booby traps forced the evacuation of several homes in a Sacramento suburb Tuesday morning, according to authorities and news reports.

The evacuations occurred in Rancho Cordova’s Copper Sunset Way neighborhood, after one caller reported hearing gunfire and another claimed to have fired the shots and set the traps, KCRA3 reported.

Cops responded to the “suspicious circumstances” and were on the scene determining “what kind of crime, if any,” may have occurred, a spokesperson for the the Rancho Cordova Police said.
