Long Beach’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program office has relocated to a new office, city officials recently announced.

Managed by the city’s Department of Health and Human Services, the office has relocated to the Ronald R. Arias Health Equity Center, 6335 Myrtle Ave., at Houghton Park in North Long Beach.

Now in a more centrally located area in North Long Beach, officials said that the new location will hopefully improve accessibility, enhance the WIC client experience and align with the health department’s efforts to manage facility costs while maintaining services in the area.

The previous program office was located at 5166 Atlantic Ave., also in North Long Beach.

WIC services have continued without interruption during this relocation, officials said.

The Long Beach Nutrition Services Division WIC Program provides healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to medical and social services to the Long Beach community, according to the city’s website.

Program hours remain Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. All services, including in-person appointments and remote support by phone, continue as usual. All current WIC clients have been notified and do not need to take any action, and appointments remain scheduled as planned, according to the city’s Jan. 23 news release.
