BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Fire Department Investigation Unit is asking for the public’s help in identifying or finding two persons of interest connected to an arson fire, who were last seen in a mega cab truck with a black toolbox in the truck bed and retractable side steps.
KCFD said the fire happened on January 24, 2026, on Sterling Road in east Bakersfield.
Surveillance video showed two suspects arrived to a location in a truck. The truck had a black toolbox in the truck bed. The truck also had retractable side steps.
The video also shows a person in a black hoodie igniting a fire at the location before returning to the truck. The truck had a loud exhaust when driving away.
