(FOX40.COM) — Want to tell the city how you feel about living in Sacramento? Now you can.

City residents can share their thoughts in a new community survey, which officials announced this week. The City Auditor’s Office is conducting the research, which aims to help Sacramento understand what areas people want to improve.

“Resident input is essential to understanding how people experience life in Sacramento,” City Auditor Farishta Ahrary said in a news release. “The more people who participate, the better the data, and the community survey gives residents a meaningful way to share their perspectives and help guide the city’s work.”

The survey was developed by the National Research Center and asks respondents about a variety of topics related to city services and quality of life. It takes about 15 minutes to complete, officials said, and responses are anonymous — though people are asked to provide an email and ZIP code to verify their residency.

Previously, the city conducted a community survey on an annual basis. But Ahrary said Sacramento will now survey residents every two years, which officials said would allow the city more time to analyze results.

The survey will remain open through Feb. 13. After analysis from the auditor’s office, results will be shared publicly.
